What I've been reading!

Hi Ladies,
sorry for the lack of blogging... been very busy with all the Christmas shopping!! And This Friday, I'm going to Texas with my other half. His mom's families are all there and it will be the first time I meet them! Spending Christmas and New Years with them this year.

Anyhow, back to the topic...  I've been reading this series of book by Suzanne Collins:

  • The Hunger Games
  • Catching Fire
  • Mockingjay

I finished the first book, The Hunger Games, not long ago and I was hooked!! I'm half way through the second book and can't wait to finish the whole series.

Here's the small summary from the book:
"In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the other districts in line by forcing them to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight-to-the-death on live TV.
One boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and sixteen are selected by lottery to play. The winner brings riches and favor to his or her district. But that is nothing compared to what the Capitol wins: one more year of fearful compliance with its rule. Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she is forced to represent her impoverished district in the Games.
But Katniss has been close to dead before - and survival, for her, is second nature. Without really meaning to, she becomes a contender. But if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that weigh survival against humanity and life against love."

I strongly recommend this trilogy if you love reading!! ^^

Revlon Lip Butters in Canada!! Swatches, review & comparison

Hi ladies,
I'm finally back with a very raved about product and they are the Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butters!!! They have finally arrived in Canada!!! YAY!!

From all the blogs and videos I've seen about these Lip Butters, there are 4 colors I really really wanted to get my hands on. They are: Berry Smoothie, Cherry Tart, Lollipop & Sweet Tart. If you find them, just grab them because they are being sold very quickly. The stands only have about 2 of each color!!!
Berry Smoothie, Cherry Tart, Lollipop & Sweet Tart

 Lollipop

Sweet Tart

Without Flash (Berry Smoothie, Cherry Tart, Lollipop & Sweet Tart)

With Flash

They were actually quite hard to find, especially Berry Smoothie!! The prices also vary greatly from store to store!
  • At Wal-Mart: $7.97
  • At Jean-Coutu: $8.99
  • At Pharmaprix: $9.49
Pros:
  • Very moisturizing
  • Very lightweight
  • Very wearable color
  • Lots of shades/colors to choose from
  • Great products to try new colors that might be too edgy in lipstick form
  • Very glossy
Cons:
  • Not too long lasting, about 2 hours
  • Might be hard to find the shades you want
I will most probably get more shades when they eventually go on sale...

They are very comparable to the Elf Conditoning Lipbalm and the NYX Tinted Lip Spa:

Hope you enjoyed my review!!!
Till next time...~

Finally Engaged!!!~

Hi Ladies,
As the title says... I'm ENGAGED!! ^^ After almost 7 years, he proposed!! This is the reason why I've been soooo busy lately!! I had to announce the news to all my families & friends. Going out for brunches, lunches and suppers!!!

He proposed on Thanksgiving weekend in Mont-Tremblant! He had reserved this beautiful room there with a balcony view overseeing the lake and the mountains. He proposed on the balcony, with the gorgeous view and the sunset! He went on one knee and said very beautiful words and at the end said: "Would you marry me?"

Now, onto the RING!!
It's funny, because everyone ask me if I chose it myself! They all say that it's soooo my style! ^^ I was very proud of him when I saw the ring. He did me proud! It's a round cut diamond with two small square cut diamonds surrounded by five more smaller round cut diamonds!

We still haven't decided on a wedding date yet, but we know it will be in 2013!
Till next time...~

Review & Swatch: ELF Conditioning Lip Balm SPF 15

Hi Ladies,
I know this is way over due, but better late than never, right? A few months back, I purchased a lot of ELF products because they had a 60% off. These are some of the products I purchased.
(From left to right: Mellow Melon, Nice & Natural and Peaceful Pink)
Pros:
  • Sun protection of SPF 15
  • Great color pay off
  • Affordable
  • Creamy, but not sticky

Cons:
  • Unhygienic
  • Too much unnecessary plastic, not travel friendly
These conditioning lip balm does have a SPF scent to them, but I don't mind it too much. When I do happen to bring it out with me, I would always bring a retractable lip brush. This lip brush is from QUO. It is very small and sleek to carry around. Does take up much room.

Here's the swatches:
(From left to right: Mellow Melon, Nice & Natural and Peaceful Pink)

I would definitely recommend these to others, but just make sure you don't dip your fingers in them... especially when you're outside!!

Has anyone tried them before? How do you like them?
Till next time...~
