Finally graduating from University!

Hey Ladies,

I'm just sooooooo happy and I need to share with just about everyone! I'm finally getting my Bachelor degree! I'm graduating with a B.Comm, majoring in Human Resource Management. YOUPPY, but my convocation will be in May/June. That's ok! No more school, no more books, no more studying! No, that's not true. I'm planning to get a certificate called Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) designation in May 2011. But that's something else, for the meanwhile, I'm DONE! ^^

I haven't start looking for a job in my field yet and I guess, I'm still not in a rush. I'm still working at the airport at the checkin counters for now and my second job which is at the mall. I will take a month or so just to relax and start job hunting at the end of Jan.

In January, my boyfriend and I will be going on a 7 day cruise! YAY, I really can't wait. We'll be flying to Fort Lauderdale and leaving for the cruise there. We'll be passing by St. Maartin, St. Thomas, Grand Turk and other places. Then 2 weeks after we get back, we have a 3 day weekend getaway at Mont-Tremblant! My boyfriend was nominated for Employee of the Year at his work and the company is treating us to an all inclusive weekend, everything paid for!!!

Will post some pictures when I get back from those trips for sure! ^^

Priorities at the moment:
  • Find a job in my field
  • Get back in shape
  • Get my CHRP designation
What are your priorities?

Till next time...~

Recent Purchases

Hi Ladies!
I've made 2 purchases at Sephora a week or so ago I received an email giving me a $15 off on purchase of more than $40. So I took this opportunity to purchase 2 items there.

  1. Too Faced Naked Eye soft & sexy eyeshadow collection
  2. Kat Von D - High voltage eye primer

These eyeshadows are sooooo pretty! I love the fact that I can use them as a everyday naked eye look, which I personally love. It really brightens up the eyes and gives it a very nice shimmer to them. I can also use these eyeshadows to produce a night look with the darker shades. Absolutely adore it!

As for the Kat Von D high voltage eye primer, I still have my Too Faced Shadow Insurance but I find that the more I've been using it, and especially when I'm out for more than 8-10 hours, the eyeshadows still tends to smug around my eye crease! So when I was at Sephora, I told them about it and they recommended me the Kat Von D hight voltage eye primer! I still haven't had the chance to use it, but I will definitely post a review of it when I used it for a few times.

Once last purchase, not at Sephora though, this one is from Winners! I got this pretty... box, that I thought would be perfect to put make up brushes it! It was only $7.99.

With a few of my makeup brushes inside...

Alright, enough for today! ^^

Lipbalm obsession

Hi Beautifuls

It's been awhile. Seriously, I think I do have an obsession with lipbalms... each time when I see lipbalms on sale or something new, I'd want to purchase them! Here are the few ones I got not long ago.

I was in the States not long ago and HAD to try the EOS lipbalms. I heard so many people rave about they awesome they were! So I decided to purchase the Honeysuckle Honeydew and the Summer Fruit flavors.

And when I got back, I saw new kinds from the Burt's Bees family, PLUS they were on sale! So I had to get them as well, they were in Mango Butter and Acai Berry.

Which one did I decided to open first to try...

and of course the EOS Honeydew. I love the fun shape and the texture of this lipbalm. It doesn't leave a greasy feeling and still moisturizes my lips perfectly! LOVE IT! When I'm done with this one, I'll update on how I like the other ones!

A beautiful surprise from my boyfriend

Hi Ladies...

this is not a beauty post or anything of that kind, but I just fell very loved and wanted to share this love! ^^ It was just an ordinary day, just like yesterday and tomorrow, but today, I received a small surprise from my boyfriend! He got me 3 rose, one in red, pink and white. He usually gets me flower on special occasions, but today was just another day... it really made my day! So happy happy joy joy!

And here's a close-up shot:

Aren't they beautiful??
Till next time...~

P.S. Oh and as for my profile picture, they are roses made out of paper that my boyfriend did one at a time for my birthday a few years back. It took him a long time to make and they're just perfect!

ELF Brush Madness!!

Hi Ladies,

how are you doing? Today, I want to share with you all my first ELF brush haul!! I was soooo excited when I got home from work and saw a pretty package waiting for me at the door... It was my ELF order!

This is what was inside the box:

I've purchased 2 times the same products because I'm planning to give them as a birthday gift for a friend who's always wanted makeup brushes!

Here's a list of everything that I got:

  • Mini Eyelash Curler
  • Small Smudge Brush
  • Complexion Brush
  • Powder Brush
  • Contour Brush
  • Concealer Brush
  • Eyeshadow "C" Brush
  • Small Precision Brush
  • Blush Brush
  • Blushing, Bronzing and Blending Brush
  • Kabuki Face Brush
  • Black Signature Case
  • Mini Eyelash Curler
  • Eyebrow Stencil
  • Free Gift: Candy Shop Liptin
Here's a close-up view of the Black Signature Case:

There's an extra sipper in the back where you can put all your makeup inside. Very convenient and perfect size for travel.

I am very satisfied with my purchase EXECPT for one brush... the Blushing, Bronzing and Blending Brush. The bristles are so ruth, I pretty much threw it in the garbage after I touched it!

I wasn't totally surprised because I did heard some youtubbers complain about their new normal line brushes. The old ones which had brown bristles and white handles are amazing. ( I own some) But these ones with the red bristles are to avoid!!!

This will be it for this post.

My Love for Burt's Bees lip balms, BUT...

Hey Ladies...

Woah it's been a long time... sorry! The weather this summer is too much at the extremes, it's either super hot and humid or thunder shower and crazy rain like today!

Anyhow, back to the topic. So I've always love my Burt's Bee lip balms, I think I must have had used dozens of them till now.

So since it's summer, I've decide to try their sun protecting lip balm in Passionfruit with SPF 8. Oh boy was it a TOTAL MISS. I believe it was the SPF factor that I really didn't like. This lip balm gives a whiteish look on the lips. It actually make you look like you're sick. Very BAD lip balm!!!! I guess it can pass if you put lipstick on top of this...

That's all for now.

Small brush haul!

Hey Beautifuls,

Today, when I went to check the mail I was surprised to see that my order has arrived!! SOOOO HAPPY! I recently made an order from "The Makeup Mix Shop". There's not a big selection on this site, but what I like about it is that it's free shipping with purchase of $20 and more. It's hard to get things online when shipping is usually sooooooo expensive to Canada!!

Here's what I got...

  1. Ecotools 6 piece eye brush set
  2. Ecotools retractable kabuki
  3. Elf studio powder brush
  4. Elf eyeshadow brush
Ecotools brush are sooo much cheaper on the site compared to drugstores. I got the 6 piece eye brush set for $9.99 and the retractable kabuki for $8.50. I believe if I purchased these items in drugstores it would have cost me $15.99 each. I already own a few Ecotools brushes and I absolutely love them! They are sooooo soft!!

As for the Elf brushes... well I've always wanted to tried them out and since my purchase was not quite over $20 yet, I decided to get the 2 Elf brushes. They are AMAZINGLY soft!!! I'm glad that through this site I was able to check them out. I'll still have to see where I can get some Elf brushes, but with a low shipping fee, because I believe it's like $15 just for shipping which is ridiculous!!!! Let me know if anyone knows a website that I can purchase Elf brushes with low shipping fee!!! ^^

Review: The Falsies Volum'Express from Maybelline

Hey Beautifuls,

I went to Pharmaprix a few days ago and saw that Maybelline has come up with a new mascara call "The Falsies Volum'Express". I saw it on sale for $3.99, which was an awesome buy and a great price to try out a new mascara.

What it claims:
  • Unique flexible wand helps to lift and separate lashes to provide the look of more lashes
  • Patented Spoon brush and Kera-fiber formula instantly build 8x more volume without clumping to complete the false lash look
  • Ophthalmologist tested
I only have on Almay eyeliner in Black. So here are my lashes without anything:

And here are my lashes with The Falsies:

My verdict:
  • I do love the Spoon brush
  • It keeps my curls intact for the whole day
  • Does extend my lashes
BUT:
  • Does clump if not applied carefully
  • Need to apply several coats quickly because it does try out pretty fast
Would I purchase again? Yes, only if it's on sale for $3.99!!! =p

Revlon Nail Polish in Gray Suede & Touch of Mauve

Hey Everyone,

I purchased these 2 shades of nail polish not long and I'm starting to like it! The first one is in Gray Suede. Although the name color suggest that it's somewhat a grayish color, I would say it's more of a nude color. OK, maybe there's a hint of gray in it... ^^ But in certain lighting, I think there's a hint of pink in it too!

Can you see the slight difference in color?!?! None the less, a very pretty color!

Second color that I bought was in Touch of Mauve. I must say the color is very similar to my L'Oreal Paris nail polish in Sand Castle, but there's slight differences. Touch of Mauve is more of a matte color as for Sand Castle is more shimmery.

Eyes of the Day

Hi Everyone,

this is the first time I post my eyes of the day, so please bear with me if the pictures are not taken too well... I'll try my best to do better next time. (Still took me a long time to take these ones and I was getting sick and tired of retaking them... =p)

And here's what I used to achieve this look (very simple and easy)...

  • Relvon ColorStay eyeshadow quad in Nude Elements (#14)
  • Marcelle retractable eyeline 2 in 1 in Amethyst
  • CoverGirl Lashblast waterproof mascara black-brown
  • Gosh eyebrow pencil in Soft Black
  • Sally Hansen eyelash curler
Hope you enjoy my look...

Mini Haul ^^

Hi Everyone,

I got 2 eyeshadow quads at Wal-Mart, 3 beauty tools at Loblaws and...

a very pretty dress at Foxy Jeans!

Let's first talk about the 2 eyeshadow quads... they were actually on sale at Wal-Mart (-40%). These are my first eyeshadows from Revlon and I absolutely love the colors!!

Left one is in Berry Bloom (#10) and the right one is in Nude Elements (#14):

And here are some swatches...

Now, on to the Sally Hansen beauty tools...

I got the Classic Nail and Toe Clip, and also the Crystal Nail File. They were all at -50% off at Loblaws! ^^ These must be the best clips and file I've ever tried. The clips are so sharp and would not chip and the file makes it so easy to smooth nails. They are AMAZING!!

Lastly, my cute summer dress that I got at Foxy Jeans. Also got this on sale for -50%, I was part of their VIP event and got all regular items at -50% and all sale items at -30%. Too bad I didn't have time that day I went and only got a dress... it's ok, better than nothing! =p

I'm not too good at taking pictures so please bear with me...

One last thing... my mom just came back from Asia and got me some facial masks...
My Beauty Diary on top (from left to right): Sake Yeast Mask, Apple Polyphenol Mask, Black Pearl Mask, Cooling Mask, Natto Rejuvenating Mask and Red Vine Mask!!! ^^
On the bottom, there's a mask from Envie de Neuf, called Platinum Cellwhite Hydromask.

Can't wait to try them all out!!
Hope you like the haul!
