Eyelid Primer: Too Faced vs. Bare Escentuals

Hi Everyone!

Here's a review on which eyelid primer is better! I was at Sephora a week ago wanting to purchase a eyelid primer because my lids gets real oily when I put eyeshadows on. So I ask for assistance and they suggested me these two: Too Faced Shadow Insurance & Bare Escentuals bareVitamins Prime Time Eyelid Primer.

vs

They were nice enough to place each product in sample containers so I can try them before purchasing either one of them: (Bare Escentuals on the left & Too Faced on the right)

Texture:
  • The Too Faced Shadow Insurance was much more creamier compared to the Bare Escentuals one. When applying to the lid, it was a lot easier to put the Too Faced compared to the Bare Escentuals. You can even see from the picture that the Bare Escentuals looked really dry.
Here I am testing both primers:

Bare Escentuals bareVitamins Prime Time Eyelid Primer------->

After 12 hours wear:

My verdict:
They are both very good at oil control, creasing prevention and fading. Therefore, purchase decision will be based on packaging and texture. I do prefer the packaging from Too Faced because it's more sanitary compared to the Bare Escentuals. As for the texture, I like Too Faced one better because it's creamier and easier to apply compared to the very dry texture of the Bare Escentuals!

My final purchase:
I went back to Sephora yesterday to purchase the product, and the winner is...
TOO FACED SHADOW INSURANCE

p.s You might be wondering... "what about the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion". Well, the first thought when I saw the product was... "ewww, not too sanitary", because you're double dipping, triple dipping... each time you place the wand back into the product and the chances of infections are higher especially when it's something you apply close to your eyes! So I said "NO THANKS"!

Hope you liked the review.

Annabelle Custom Quads Eyeshadows

Hi Everyone!
I just purchased a few eyeshadows from Annabelle's custom single eyeshadows. They were actually on sale this week at Pharmaprix for $2.99 each eyeshadow and the quad was also at the same price. I actually got an additional $2.00 off from each item because I printed some coupons off the Internet! ^^ So they came up to be $1.00 each for me, very affordable!

Here are some pictures I took:

In the full quad I have Buff Naked, Ebony, Indigo Glow & So Foxy

And in my second quad, I only have 2 eyeshadows; Helium & Vivid Violet

The colors in the pictures does not quite reflect its' actual color, there are some differences!

That would be all for today.

Did you know?

Hi everyone!
You guys might find this a bit odd, but I was flipping the channels this morning/afternoon and landed on Dr. Oz show. (Anyone watches it?) So yeah, and I learned so much on today's show! It was discussing about the 3 most "dangerous" makeup.
  1. Loose mineral power - due to the small particules that can be inhaled and do damage to the lung
  2. Anti-wrinkle cream - the ingredients in these cream can damage your skin
  3. Lip gloss - the substance used to give the shine to the lip (petrolium jelly) can/might cause cancer once it is swallowed
Be aware of these little thing and try to limit the use of these makeup and try to find alternatives!!
Till next time...~
