My Search for Eyelid Primer

Hi Ladies,
so today I want to share with you how I FINALLY found the eyelid primer that suits my eyelid. We all react to different types of eyelid primer differently, so it's very important to try out several brand before purchasing them.

Here are all the ones I tried:
  1. Too Faced Shadow Insurance
  2. Kat Von D High Voltage Eye Primer
  3. Benefit Stay don't Stray Eyeshadow Primer
  4. Lorac Eyeshadow Primer
  5. Stila Prime Pot in Taffy
  6. Bare Escentuals Prime time Eye Primer
  7. Urban Decay Primer Potion

At first I didn't know much about eyelid primers. I just knew my eyelid was super oily and that I needed something for oil control. So after watching YouTubers and doing some research, I thought Too Faced had one that would suit me. I went to Sephora and purchased it. It did kinda work for the first few times I used it, then it just failed on me. My second attempt was by speaking to a representative at Sephora. They told me that the manager there swears by the Kat Von D High Voltage Eye Primer. When I tested it in the store, it did feel less "watery" than the Too Faced one. So I decided to give it a try. Failed after several tries.

Then I told myself, there's no way I'm going to start purchasing again. I will get samples and try them out for a whole week before buying again! The Benefit one kinda intensified the oiliness of my lid! The Lorac one was ok for the first few hours, and did start to crease and get oily after 4-5 hours.

Stila and Bare Minerals works very well on me, so I needed to assess the packaging. The Bare Escentuals new packaging of their eyelid primer is much more sanitary than the Stila, which came in a pot.

As for the Urban Decay Primer Potion, I didn't bother to test it out because I read lots of review that it didn't work on oily lids. This sample came with the Naked Palette.

So the winner is...

*Did anyone had a hard time finding an eyelid primer that works for them*

Till next time...~

Haul: L'Oreal Warehouse Sale

Hi Ladies,
I went to the L'Oreal Warehouse Sale this morning at the opening time. Unfortunately, I wasn't there early enough to be one of the first! There was already a line up when I got there at 8:30am (Opens at 9am)!! I was still able to get a few things that I was eyeing for a while... and here's what I got.

From Lancome:
  • Tresor in Love Fragrance Gift Set - Includes Tresor in Love Eau de Parfum Spray, Tresor in Love Eau de Parfum Miniature, Tresor in Love Perfumed Body Lotion and Hypnose Mascara all in a black purse.
  • Juicy Tubes Gift Set Sparkling Pinks - Includes Butterflies, Sweetheart, Pink Bling, Raspberry Ice, Miracle and Dreamsicle
  • Oscillation Gift Set - Includes Oscillation Mascara, Bi-Facil and Mini Khol Pencil
They did have other gift sets with the Tresor in Love Fragrance in them, but I believe this came with the most product for the price.

I might put this aside and give it away as a Birthday Gift to a friend.

There was a similar gift set, instead of the Mini Khol Pencil, it came with a mini lipgloss for $2-3 more. (Not sure if I might give it away...)

From Biotherm:
  • 123 Skincare Essentials kit - Includes Cleansing Mousse, Clarifying Lotion and Gel Moisturizer
  • Aquasource Superserum
  • Biotherm Homme AquaPower Ultra Moisturizing (for the bf)

From L'Oreal and Maybelline (got these for a friend):
  • HIP Studio Secrets Professional Intense Eyeliner in Dark Sky
  • Expert Wear Eyeshadow in Sapphire Ice and Lavender Fields
I was a bit disappointed that they didn't have any felt tip liquid eyeliners.

Unexpected Finds...
I was VERY surprise to find Shu Uemura makeup there. From what I remember, they had their eyeshadow palettes and lipgloss.

I'm hoping to go one more time and hopefully find other products. They usually restock or have other items to replace the ones that are cleared out! The prices did go up compared to prices last year, but still better prices than getting them in stores!

I will be doing reviews on the products I purchased, so come back to see how I like them!

*Did anyone go? What did you get?*

Till next time...~

Weekend Haul: Sephora, Forever 21, Jean Coutu & Pharmaprix

Hi Ladies,
here's a haul for you today. These are a few things I got over the weekend.
  • Revlon Limited Edition Spring/Summer 2011 Super Lustrous Lip Balm in Peach Crystal ($8.99)
  • Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss in Lilac Pastelle & Peach Petal (Weekend special $3.99)
  • Secret Fashion Mode in Greyflannel (Special $5.99)
  • Philosophy vanilla birthday cake (Free birthday gift from Sephora)
  • BareMinerals eyelid primer ($23)
First I want to talk about the Revlon LE Spring/Summer 2011 Super Lustrous Lip Balm. I found it at Jean Coutu and it comes in three colors, a pinky color, this peachy color and a blueish green color. I picked the Peach Crystal because I thought this would suit me best. The packaging is very cute and it also comes with a small brush applicator on the lid. I did took off the description/barcode sticker from the lid because it was in the way of the brush.

I still haven't tried to use it with the brush, but the brush is very soft. I thought this lipbalm would give a bit of color on my lips but unfortunately, it is very sheer. It has a sweet and almost candy like smell to it. This lipbalm is surprisingly quite moisturizing. I guess it's prettier to take out this lipbalm than to apply a normal stick lipbalm when your going out. As a plus, it does have SPF 15 in it, so it's perfect for the summer. Here's a swatch of the lipbalm:

Second product from Revlon is the Super Lustrous Lipgloss in Lilac Pastelle & Peach Petal, yes, I know I'm pretty late on this product.

It's actually a very nice pastelle color on my lips, perfect for the summer!

During the weekend, I did pass by Sephora to get the BareMinerals eyelid primer. Since my Birthday is March 31st, I also picked up my free birthday gift! ^^ YAY

I will do a full review on the BareMinerals eyelid primer along with all other primers I've used. Stay tune for them because let me tell you... I tried A LOT of primer!
Best primer for my oily lids

The tights I got on sale for $5.99 at Jean Coutu. It's a very nice design tights. It's not totally sheer, but just enough to make a nice contrast from skin to black! On the picture it looks almost dark grey, but it's black.

Lastly, I went to Forever 21 and pick up this very nice top. It's a very light green, almost see-through with flower designs on them.

Hope you like this haul.

*Has anyone tried the Revlon LE Spring/Summer 2011 Super Lustrous Lip Balm?*
*What's your take on it? I'd love to know!*

Can't wait for the L'Oreal warehouse sale this Wednesday!!! Who's going???
Till next time...~

Nail of the Week

Hi Ladies,
Just a very quick post on what nail color I'm wearing this week... Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro in Steel Grey. It's a very pretty dark grey color, but in different lighting, it looks almost dark purple! It's my first time using this nail polish and I'm not sure how I'm liking the brush... I'm not sure if you can see, but it comes with a very fat and big brush. I might get use to it after a few more tries...

Anyhow, this is the color on my nails...

Hope you enjoy this short post!
Till next time...~

Unexpected Finds at Dollarama

Hi Beautifuls,
Just a very quick post on some unexpected items that I found at Dollarama...
  • Softlips in Tangerine Temptation - Moisturizing Lip Balm with soothing Vitamin E (Pack of 2)
  • Kleenex tissues (Pack of 10)
They were both at $2 each!! Good thing I went to Dollarama before going to Wal-Mart, because the Softlips was actually on my list of things to get! If I remember correctly, the Softlips are almost $5 each at Wal-Mart, so I got a great deal! I would of prefer it in Honeydew, but I don't mind Tangerine. This was actually the LAST pack there, I was lucky to got my hands on it.

I also found a lot of Sally Hansen products and ELF brushes at Dollarama. From Sally Hansen, they had a lot of their nail and lip products for $2. I even found Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen, but obviously all the nice colors were gone! As for the ELF brushes, they were their original brushes selling for $1.50.

*Have you found anything interesting at Dollarama?*

Exercise diary:
It was raining and very windy this morning, so I did my intensive sit-ups! Aching body when I got up too... Good pain though.

Hi Ladies,
The weather is FINALLY starting to get warmer in Montreal and the road is not too overflowed with water. This means, I will start my outside jogging early this year! I actually went for my first run today, and it feels awesome! I haven't gained any weight, but I just feel fat! Anyone feeling the same way?

Here's the outside conditions today
My goal:
  • Jog every other day and mild sit-ups
  • On days that I don't jog, do my sit-ups intensively
I'm ready to get my tone body back for the summer!! ^^
What's your plans to get back in shape?

Healthy Drinks by GreenMax

Hi Lovelies,
I'm back to share with you something other than beauty... something on the healthy side! I've been pretty addicted with these drinks lately. I must say, the first time my mom purchased them I was quite skeptical about the taste, because the drink didn't look too appealing. Once I got use to the "appearance", I really like the taste of it. The drink I'm talking about is by GreenMax and I got them from chinese grocery stores. Here are the 4 flavors that I like and tried:

Black Sesame Cereal

Yam & Mixed Cereal

I like to drink these two, the Black Sesame Cereal and the Yam & Mixed Cereal, in the morning when I'm in a rush. I would take it as my breakfast. Or at night time when I'm hungry and it's too late to grab something to eat.

Almond Tea with Hazelnut

Black Beans with Matche

The last two, Almond Tea with Hazelnut and Black Beans with Matcha I usually drink it anytime of the day! From the 4 that I've tried, the ones I like most is the Almond Tea with Hazelnut and Black Beans with Matcha.

Has anyone tried any of them? How do you like them?

50% off at The Body Shop this weekend only!

Hi Ladies,
I went to the mall today and discovered that The Body Shop was having 50% off on everything when you purchase a reusable bag for $5! By purchasing this bag, you also stop sex trafficking of children & young people. Great deal isn't it? The sale doesn't apply to gift set though. So here are a few things I picked up while I was there...

This is the reusable bag

And here are the products I got
  • Vitamin E Face Mist - On-call moisture and vitamin E protection
  • Vitamin E Skin Essentials - Moisture cream, night cream, cream cleanser and toner
  • Radian Highlighter
  • Facial Massager - Boosts radiance, helps skin better absorb moisturizer
  • Organic Cotton Rounds - made from 100% organic cotton, soft and gentle on the skin
Most of these products I heard were very good from Youtubers and Bloggers!

At the end, the cashier gave me two small samples:
  • Body Butter in Lavender and Coconut ^^
I love these small sample containers, they don't look cheap. I will surely reuse them once I'm done with the Body Butters.

Did anyone take advantage of this sale to get a few things to try out?
Till next time...~

Hope you enjoy this short post.

Review: Physicians Formula Eye Booster 2-in-1 Day & Night Lash Boosting Serum

Hey Ladies,
Here's my last review on my recent Physicians Formula purchase, the Eye Booster 2-in-1 Day & Night Lash Boosting Serum. It comes with a very thin felt tip applicator and I got it in clear.

What it claims:
  • Visibly enhances natural lash growth while nourishing & conditioning lashes
  • Lash boosting complex targets the root of lashes where it is most effective in providing nutrients associated with growing long, thick lashes
What I think about the product:
  • When you first apply this product on the base of your eyelash, it does sting a little for a few seconds or so
  • After some research on the product (comment from PinkOrchids made me worry), I found some interesting information on New York Times
    • Not sufficient research has been made to prove the safety of these products
    • Some side effects of Latisse: itching, irritation, redness and increased brown pigmentation of the iris.
  • I'm not about to take chances with some product that might be unsafe.
I hope everyone out there who's using some kind of eyelash enhancer be careful and just listen to the reactions that your skin tells you! I've already stopped using it, no chances are taken!

Did anyone get any reactions using any kind of eyelash enhancer?
Till next time...~

Review: Physicians Formula Organic Wear Jumbo Lash Mascara

Hey Beauties,
I'm back with the review of the Organic Wear Jumbo Lash Mascara. Firstly, I just want to mention that this mascara does not come in waterproof! I was disappointed, but still got it just because it had a Full Price Mail-In-Rebate!

Here's how the mascara look like. It comes with a very unique packaging, shaped like a leaf. The brush is very similar to the CoverGirl Lashblast brushes and I love it!

This mascara contains:
  • 100% Free of Synthetic Solvents (can cause dry brittle lashes), Organic Orange Water (to hydrate and moisturize) and Organic Aloe & Cucumber Extracts (soothing and moisturizing)
  • 100% Natural Origin Biopolymers (for clump-free lashes)
  • 100% Natural Origin Preservatives (reduces the risk of irritation)
  • 100% Natural Origin Rice Protein & Organic Tapioca Starch (naturally boost volume) and Organic Beeswax (for a buildable formula)
  • 100% Natural Origin Color Pigments
  • 100% Free of Petroleum By Products
What it claims:
  • 100% of the total ingredients are from natural origin
  • 47% of the total ingredients are from Organic Farming
What I think about the product:
  • I love the fact that this mascara feels very lightweight on my lashes
  • It holds my curls
  • It gives a very natural look that I love
  • Love this product for everyday use
  • When I have it on, my lashes still feels very soft and moisturized
  • Don't need to think about the harm that it might cause, because it's 100% from natural origin
  • Can easily be taken off with normal makeup remover
Without mascara:

With mascara

This is one mascara that I will repurchase for everyday usage. I wouldn't wear this on a night out, but for everyday, I think it's the best one!

Have you tried this mascara? What are your opinions on it?
Till next time...~
